First impression is the last impression! Really!!

 

When I opened my eyes to the world,

Full of bonhomie, affection and love,

What followed was push and shove.

 

When I opened myself to my friends,

Full of camaraderie and endearment,

What followed was only a few remnant.

 

When I opened to my conscience,

Sacred, honest, clear and idealistic,

What followed was aberrant and realistic.

 

When I opened to the tenets of life,

Full of zeal, enthusiasm and optimism,

What followed was a dull pessimism.

 

When I opened to self- criticism,

Fair, transparent and self-depreciation,

What followed was selfdom & self- admiration.

 

First impression is the last impression! Ugh!
